@2014 Forever Lives JCN dope ideas. Teen JCN doing it big. The progression to a deeper relationship between artist and fan seems to be how it's going with all the different ways that fans can connect to artists. Wale's a good example of moving in that direction where he was getting TAAN to be "a&r'd by his core fans", getting them to choose the album cover etc. but then again it didn't really translate into any commercial success and he sold well below his first week from the last album. I think there could be a thing of giving too much exposure to your fans in terms of music creation and explaining what your motives are behind albums and songs. The way Cole dropped FHD was crazy as he kept it so secretive and barely dropped any information on it and when it came to the first listen, it was a great experience. Also I know artists like him don't want to spill too much info on their intentions behind the song cos it's art and fans/listeners should interpret it in the way they feel/understand it. It's an interesting debate over how much exposure u should give to your fans and how that translates into commercial success - if u give too much insight into the album process does it help to build hype or reduce ur anticipation to listen to it? Cole mastered the art of developing really deep relationships with his fans early on and its paid big dividends and ideas like those could help him to progress cos his ghost act is not really a strategy tbh

true, but thats the thing the making of/album creative process part wouldn't be before the release or even a month after ... it would b like now for example for cole with 2014 FHD ... so he could still do the surprise 1 month release thing which is great and i think should continue to b done ... but imagine him now when we've all had time to digest the album release like a full breakdown of the album, just like a full web page (think of the complex article where he took us through the 2014 fhd home) where u scroll down and theres pictures and a timeline where it has when each song was made, what gave the inspiration ... maybe even have early versions of beats/hooks ... essentially its like an interactive album that comes out only a couple months after the album ... there could b a standard layout for each tidal artist who does this u know

and so u would have to have tidal because its not the type of thing u could leak (the whole experience of how dope the web page would be)

and i got some more ideas too ...

imagine if all tidal subscribers got exclusive subcriptions to "Tidal magazine" it could b like a standard magazine (about 100 pages or so) release every 2 months ... it would probably cost too much money to actually print real magazine and send them out to everybody but it could b an online magazine, so once again its not something that could b leaked in its full form so it benefits u to have tidal

and then even tho printing out magazines and sending them costs too much, they could send like posters/little post card type things to tidal subscribers of the number 1 artists they "wave"

AND THIS IS THE CRAZIEST THING .... what if they even send demo tapes to fans randomly ... like remember when cole sent I'm a fool to a fan on twitter giving the fan the chance to share it ... same type of thing, if theres a song cole wants to drop they could just put it on a blank disc in a blank jewel case (maybe the artist could sign it even) and send it to lets say 100 fans randomly, and then obviously one of those fans is gonna leak it (but the artist wants it to leak anyways) ... but u know how special those fans who got it are gonna feel, and theyre gonna have an exclusive cd that no one else (besides the 99 other people) is ever gona have, if they want they could sell it on eBay lol ...
ps that would b a great way to release Truly Yours 4 or ROTD 2
