Nah, Street Lightz EP is supposed to hit soon and thats supposed to be some house type music which Vic kills, but expect Traffic in Spring I'd bet

Wimmie Nah, Feel That, Major Payne, those were songs that he was in the mood to make and so he did, if you hear him talk about it he's a real artistic dude, reminds me of Kanye, this project is gonna be filled with Down on My Lucks, he's working with that producer heavy

Listen to the first track and tell me this guys not still amazing... also note how live Feel That sounds

Nah its more than that but it just probably comes down to personal preference.
Although Kendrick has dropped the only classic of this generation and I love that album, but I don't FEEL his music.
I understand the significance and the depth of his songs, but to me Kendrick raps FOR you more than to you.
It's very entertaining and I know its probably different because I don't relate to most of his Compton subject matter, but he's definitely great at painting a picture.
But he doesn't have as much a conversational tone as Cole or Drake. I always feel like Cole and Drake are rapping to me, especially Cole.

For me this conversational tone is evident throughout his discography and his ability to evoke emotion is also better.
For a lot of people the Intro might just be a good track but that track is so special because of he's talking to himself and the listener and you can hear the emotion so well in his voice that you can empathize and relate. That track has moved me more than any other Kendrick or Drake track by far. :manny:

    I wasn't.

I was offering a suggestion as to why Cole seems more relatable to some people, or that he's "speaking to you." Because claiming that Kendrick and drake don't is as unfounded as me trying to tell you why you listen to Cole lol. I'm rambling. My point being that there have been numerous tracks by Kendrick and Drake that I've "felt" as much/more than any Cole song.

Collect calls, maad city, barbed wires, cartoons and cereal, sing about me/dying of thirst, the heart pt 3, Ronald Reagan era, adhd, etc

The drake songs are probably more obvious so I won't go into that

I think what I was saying come out wrong - I'm not trying to say I know why you guys like Cole as much as you do (trust me that's a complete mystery to me lol), but I don't think saying in broadstrokes that he's more "relatable," or "speaks more directly to listeners"'or whatver isn't accurate

sorta agree with you about the misogyny on No Role Modelz :manny:
although I feel like there are other songs that he has that have more unnecessary misogyny and takes away from it honestly imo
Wish he had more songs that praised women without having the message coming across as women v. b------s
(im not sure if this is fair to ask of an rapper now a days tho...)

It's completely fair to ask rappers to be better writers - which what this is all about when you get down to it. Be less haphazard with their message, if they're going out of their way to try and have one to begin with

    Just my 2 cents :emoji_thumbsup:

The way No Role Modelz is made is on purpose. It's hypocritical on purpose. In the context of the album its him in Hollywood realizing how fake these women are, but he still f---ing them and kicking them to the door. He's not saving them but he's still using them, so its also a song that's critical of himself and actions of males as well as the birds in Hollywood.

"She shallow, but the p---- deep" is a perfect example. He knows these girls ain't s--- but he's still hitting regardless. Thats the whole point. If it was all about him uplifting women, he would have had a completely positive message and just made another Crooked Smile but thats not the point of the song.

It's an analysis of women in modern culture and its self-criticism of the males in the process.

Cool, sure, but if he does NOTHING to represent the other side of the ball, to humanize those women (even the ones he considers "aren't worth s---" lol) then it's a weak attempt at being social commentary. It's too broad, it generalizes too much
