Quite strange to say but I really think Cole has an argument to the best discography out of the new school.

TWU, FNL & FHD can hold their own with any 3 projects dropped by Drake or Kendrick. Drake has SFG, TC & NWTS, Kendrick had OD, S80 & GKMC. Personally I would choose Cole's set of projects over the other two. Its fairly ironic since I feel Kendrick & Drake both have a classic album and are both on their way to drop incredible projects again.

    Thoughts?

PS- I would rank BS up there since that album has a personal connection with me.

If i could only listen to one artist, i'd pick Coles discography.

And whether u liked each album or not, he changed/impacted the game with each one he's made.

Ive spoken to many rap fans (not just cole fans), they consider all 3 albums classics. I think we just criticize and nitpick cause we're stans which is fair cause of what he gave us with FNL and TWU.

KRIT has the best discography if you only include official projects. Throw in unreleased joints and the others can make their case

@LondonSimba it's definitely a good topic of discussion, personally I'm too attached to Cole's music (FNL in particular) to be objective. Drake's music is so accessible and it's something I can listen to at anytime but Kendrick's astounding run stemming even from the Kendrick Lamar EP is nothing short of incredible. This will be a pivotal year depending on who drops the album with the biggest impact, even crazier if we get the K.Dot & Cole collab.

I wish I was doing more.... I swear kids don't care these days. I had a student making fun of all kinds of s--- today. wanted to smack the s--- out of him and be like ... "b---- know your history"

But instead I just handed him back his test and laughed at his grade.... :pac:

Im late but I saw on tumblr that Will/Uncle Phil scene was scripted and Will did grow up with his father. (he's talked about him a bunch in interviews)
He's just a great actor. :manny:
I don't know if anyone has bought this up yet...

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere will improvised the last scene and uncle Phil just went along with it but you're right, will had a great relationship with his father. He was just able to put himself in others shoes and nailed the emotions and sentiments perfectly.

    Incredible acting.

I feel like once a rapper drops a classic album, in people's eyes, they can do no wrong.

Any album Drake, Kendrick, Kanye, etc. won't be highly criticized compared to an artist like Cole.

Yeah in terms of consistency, has to go to KRIT. Dude's like 6 "albums" deep and it's all fire (apart from LFU depending on who u listen to). It's interesting how the big 3 have all been associated with giants in the game. May have helped KRIT also :idk:

Other than Drake I agree. I feel he does get criticized objectively. But yeah, once an artist receives mass praise and "genius" is attached to their name/project by certain publications and people, they can supposedly do nothing wrong. Pitchfork praised "i" for crying out loud. And it won two Grammys. Critics ate up Yeezus. Meanwhile there are cats like Cole grinding it out in a unique fashion...making bold moves and doing things just as good/even better than his peers...while he does get props it's not nearly enough imo. He's still getting slept on.
