Fhd is a light 7. Good album but nothing close to a classic

The music being good ain't got nothing to do with if a album is classic, cause that's opinionated.

When it comes to rather a album is classic imo, I look at the impact it had and a lot of different s---.

FHD has the acclaim (from fans/people) critics opinions don't matter much, plenty classic albums got average reviews (get rich or die tryin, the documentary, makaveli, etc) so that s--- don't matter.. if it had that , then they would be great, but in the big picture, that s--- don't matter.

Sales wise, it's Coles best selling, still on the charts 2 years later. Don't think he will top that commercial wise. At least up till now, he ain't topped it. So, right now that album is stamped.

I like to consider it Cole's Me Against the World, basically the album that really put him at the top, ain't no denying him now. He was already up there, but n----s (including some of y'all) just didn't wanna give the man his credit, now if n----s deny they look stupid.

Now music wise, the album is Cole's best s--- imo, with 4 your eyez only, sometimes I prefer one over the other. People say friday night lights but I think Cole is so much better now than he was back then , think people just stick in nostalgia when it come to those tapes. The man clearly progressed

FHD imo is going to be Cole's classic when his career is Ike where Jay 's at and we look back on it

i agree with everything you said, its definitely his classic to this point, however i think he's still got his magnum opus where he finally reaches his true potential and puts everything together coming up soon

kinda like kanye with Graduation really taking him to that next level popularity wise but then he still had MBDTF coming up which a lot of people see as his best album and true classic

of course cole not quite (or even close really lol) to kanye's level mainstream popularity wise at the time of graduation but still ...

you can actually draw comparisons between all of Cole and Kanye's albums by release number to this point :khaled: ... never really thought of it before

College Dropout - Sideline Story (both battling with themes of making it in the game, obviously CD is WAY better)

Late Registration - Born Sinner (both a bit darker than the debuts, introduce way more live instrumentation and deep layering of beats into the music ... again LR is better but i still think born sinner way underrated)

Graduation - 2014 FHD - (both made concise easily digestible projects which took them both to another level popularity wise)

808s - 4 Your Eyez Only (bit tougher to make the comparison here, both have numbers in the title lol, na haha but i guess the best comparison is they both emotional and they both became comfortable doing whatever it is they do and not caring what critics think)

some of you might disagree with some things in this post but all in all the sentiment is that if you really think about it cole is 4 albums deep and hasn't really "wasted" any albums, like kanye, he has made an impact of varying degrees with all his releases and built himself up quite a catalogue, especially if you include the mixtapes and Truly Yours etc.

and above all it show us that next we in for cole's MBDTF, his magnum opus true classic :rejoice::rejoice::rejoice::rejoice: :jr:

and maybe he will finally make a short film for his d--- album like kanye with MBDTF, like he shudda done for the past 3 now (BS, FHD and Eyez) :cam:

and maybe cole will diss someone on stage to really propel himself to another level :khaled:

I agree but how much better do you think he can do. I mean if he released an entire album of false prophets, everybody dies, and high for hours, he would immedaitly be crowned as king of rap. It is that simple.

Forest Hills is definetly a classic, a defining album for this era. People LOVE that s---, just check the numbers, its still doing 10k a week 2 years later.

Also I don't know if this fact was overlooked but FHD was literally the third most streamed album worldwide in 2016 across all genres, with over a billion streams...and it came out in 2014. Classic
