I've kinda realised why there's now such a love/hate relationship with Cole among most music/hiphop fans. Cole's rise to like house-name status came with FHD. He picked up a huge amount of fans with that album and a lotta ppl connected with it for the same reasons that most of us did when we heard TWU/FNL. But when you look at FHD, we know that it's a pretty average rap album in terms of lyricism and everything that most hip-hop fans look for but ppl connected to it so much they just put Cole up on this pedestal saying "this guy speaks for me" and the rest just look at him and say "this guy is so overrated". Cos this is based on an average rap album is what incense most people I've noticed. If only people went back a bit further into his discog to discover gems like Disgusting and Cole World :colerly:

Cole haters just Kanye stans , it started when born sinner dropped, then false prophets dropped it made them hate him more.

Then when FHD dropped ppl started that platinum no features s---, ppl made it into a meme, now ppl that ain't really care for Cole hate him even more cause of his fans.

Now some lil yacthy fans hate him.maybe a few Uzi fans and fans of most of the so called mumble rappers. Cause they think he was going directly at them , but really Cole was taking shots at everybody in the game on everybody dies even the OGs lol

Everything about Cole is average - that's his appeal. He's someone u could see chillin with u on the regular, just happens to be a superstar. He realized that on fhd. Now, Cole has moments of greatness, but aside from fnl he hasn't put together a great project. His fans relate to him way more than the average person, that's why he's so polarizing. Fans will put him on a pedestal for their own reasons, and people who don't really mess with him will say he's average and nothing great. There's only a few artists that are globally recognized as "great" - the kendricks, frank oceans of the word.

I don't really wanna get into a list argument but when u put FHD next to the likes of MBDTF (I know you don't like him lol but the production alone on this is something that we'll probly never hear again), Blueprint, S80/GKMC, Food and Liquor... FHD doesn't really stack up imo

Songs like wet dreamz/hello and verses like at the end of apparently don't make me take it seriously enough to put it next to these kinda albums. Especially after knowing he put together projects like FNL. But Cole found his lane and that's fair enough. I'm not calling him trash but lyrically he needed to be a lot more consistent

It's lyrically Kanye's best album by far and the production makes up for any weak bars
