    @Kvp187 @Kold in regards to the songwriting or lack thereof on Drakes part: when I think of views through a hip-hop lens, it is extremely dissappointing from a written perspective considering the hip-hop joints aren't what he's previously been capable of and much of the RnB/pop/commercial records are likely written partially or entirely by other people. But when I look at VIEWS through a pop/RnB even just a music lens, I appreciate it more. I've come to the point where I don't hold Drake to the standard I hold all my hip-hop artists to and view him as more of a commercial/pop entity, and that's ok. His goal has seemed to always be to make hits and entertain more than be substantial from a hip-hop cultural perspective. Drake deserves more of a comparison to Beyoncé, Kanye, Taylor Swift, Weeknd, etc rather than Cole, Kenny, Hov, etc. Basically I don't look at him as a rapper anymore, he's an artist that uses rap as a medium as well as RnB, pop, and other methods. VIEWS is a great album, but not a great rap album.

    Sorry for the essay. I'm off the soapbox.

    It is funny to see Drake Stans go from "Drake is the best rapper" to "I don't even care about rap". That's the attitude of one my best guys. His favorite artist made him not appreciate the same music he had been listening to for 15+ years

    I couldn't handle it if I found out someone wrote for Cole tbh. I have to listen to too deep for the intro every morning before starting the day off cause Jermaine's life stories feels exactly like mine. I would probably go depressed or something :lmaooo:

    I stopped comparing it to hip-hop and started thinking about it more broadly and I have a better appreciation for VIEWS.
    Still think a lot of his love songs are warped senses of reality but other than that, I'm on board with it.

    The thing is, Drake doesn't want to become an rnb artist because he knows he will never be considered as a great artist. Singing is very important in RNB and drake isn't even that good of a singer. There are way too many better rnb artists right now...

    Don't know many kdot female fans, but these females love drake and cole. My home girl just asked me to make her a CD with views on it. We was talking about views, but s--- turned into a convo about when cole was gon drop. Had to send her the bally video cause she said the jamaican vibes on views was dope.
