Word. But I'm not even mad if someone misses a shot. The IQ of some of these dudes smh. Last game this one dude every time he got the ball he either drove it to the basket and missed badly or shot it right away. That fa---- didn't even look the court around once. Glad I'm done with this college basketball. On the other hand, don't know where / if I'm gonna play now after the summer ends. Gotta find a team and do some league s--- too.

Yes because those are all things that are still affecting communities in the US, things I talk about and experience on a daily basis with what's going on with law enforcement. Like I said it's all still very relevant minus maybe cocaine. But the war on drugs, mass incarceration, and housing inequity crises, along with the fallout from all of those collectively are still entirely relatable. Not that I went through all of it personally but that it resonates still to this day. I didn't communicate that properly in my post but that's because I was drunk. I'm not even disagreeing with the whole classic discussion one way or the other, I've made the case amongst peers that at times I think It Was Written is a better album than Illmatic. But, the latter is more relevant to me on a content, stylistic and impact level.

@Lockness oh and I got into Illmatic when I was a young kid, learning hip-hop chords for the piano and came across the NY State of Mind chords. Then I Limewired the album and it was a wrap. I didn't really understand how acclaimed it was until I started reading about hip-hop's history years later.

I used to think IWW>illmatic but after watching "time is illmatic" and reading this I've realized that was foolish of ME. Yes, I let outside s--- influence my opinion

yea all that s--- look good, but he need to deliver it better. and pick better beats.

that's that song with punch and jay rock, yea it had s-----y production
actually his flow and voice wasnt bad on that part, but the beat is awful and boriing.
