How much does that really matter though? Both drake and Kendrick have had more commercial and Grammy success than Nas? Does that mean they have had better careers?

When I look at full discographies Cole is right there with Drake and Kendrick imo and I'm just talking purely music.

Alright clearly im a huge cole fan(thats why am here typing this rn) but lets be real he aint near drake level of recognition. This dude is a star no doubt about it . No explanation needed.
Now the Kendrick conversation is bit more fluid. Everyone has their opinion, many of them justifiable, but i still think cole is a notch below, although hes closed the gap considerably. The n----- has a platinum album thats no fluke. But Kendrick has transcended regular rap circles, almost now being labeled "the rapper" among his peers, by the mainstream, can't deny moments like control, grammy nods(while rapping his a--- off) and even recent black friday tracks. Go look at cole's plays on soundcloud compared to kendricks
They all have their own cool accomplishments, BUT whenever they, drake,kendrick, and cole, are pegged togehter, Cole comes in third, sometimes second( I'll give u that), rarely first.

Does any of that other s--- really matter, to me not really, dude is still my favorite, Im just waiting on n----s to get hip.
That time is coming, cole done been proved can't be labeled with any limitations

I feel like there's no question on who's more popular now between Kenny and Cole. Kenny's last album f----- up his run and Cole came with FHD. None of both can compete with Drake tho when it comes to popularity.

I understand what you're saying for sure. You definitely make good points. But at the end of the day when I talk about who is the best today or 10 years from now I won't be basing my decision on what everyone else thinks.

That's why Pac and Biggie (as great as they are don't get me wrong) wouldn't make my top 5 all time. When I look at TWU, FNL, FHD vs. S80, GKMC, TPAB vs. SFG, TC, NWTS, I think Cole is right there with them. Granted Cole dropped a mediocre debut but so did Drake and Kendrick disappointed me a little bit personally with TPAB (even though it's dope).

This isn't even counting the countless loosies that make his catalogue deeper and greater than what immediately meets the eye.

That's just me though. I don't really care what others opinions are of my favorites to a certain degree. I don't need the Grammy committee or critics validation.

I think it really depends on what your definition of success is as far as these 3 go. To me, at the moment, it's Drake - Cole - Kendrick (with my favorite being Cole of course)

As great as Kendrick has been, he gets passes because the mainstream media picked him up and has totted him as the next legend (whether he deserves that or not). So to them, even though TPAB was actually a disappointment commercially (had old boy tweeting out LA for not buying enough), he gets a pass. Even though he talks about not selling out and sticking to roots as well, he does singles with Taylor Swift and rides the Beats wave, but still didn't even top Cole's sales. But nobody dared talk about that, they'd rather ask why HBO picked Cole instead of Kendrick, not really seeing that Cole has the bigger and more devoted fanbase.

So to me, it almost feels like the mainstream media tries to tell you Kendrick is the best or second best, but really the results are a lot more muddy and any one of them can be argued.

At the same time, I think it all depends on each of their next albums. Cole is undoubtedly on a run musically, and my lord Drake cannot be stopped. But we've also seen disappointments, even with the men at the top, like Kanye. Kendrick is harder to diffuse because TPAB pretty much was down from GKMC in a lot of ways, but he's still rapping like a mad man (whether or not that's a good thing is also up to debate). So we'll see. Can Cole break that glass ceiling and top all of his previous works? Is Drake going to capitalize fully off of the immense hype that Views has going? What does Kendrick have in store next?

At the very least it feels like all three will provide new innovative sounds to their bodies of work once they drop.
