Is the West Coast back?

    For judging their music I don't think it matters, but it really has and had a big influence where a rapper is from .. think about california love, empire/ny state of mind. Imagine Nas and/or Jay not being from NY. There would have been no beef over who is the best there and I think their carreers would have been different in some, maybe even a major way. Also Jay maybe not been influenced by Biggie etc etc. For the West it's the same, looking at earlier work (dre, game and more) and how it was really a 'west coast' thing, one of those more important guys not being from there could have changed a lot. Of course this goes for every city/state.

    i am passably familiar with uk rap and grime, constantly being educated. i don't listen to australian rap because i can only own so many backpacks.

    Game gets so much hate, but the production on the documentary was outstanding and almost an extension of Chronic 2001, that album had everything you look for song-wise too, Timbaland/Just Blaze/Nate Dogg (R.I.P)/Kanye/Em/Dr. Dre & Scott Storch together before the coke got to him.

    Classic album for sure, but to say its the best WC album is a stretch...
    I wish Game got back to that type of music tho...

    Not saying it's the best, but the way I've seen people dismiss and hate on Game and discredit that album is ridiculous.

    Agreed. It's by far one of the best in Hip-hop period. out the gate 5 million sold.

    I don't consider any of those to be classic, let alone best from the west. Can anyone even name a song from the chronic besides let me ride? Lol
