Sep 3, 2017 Good point. MMLP definitely had more of an impact in terms of the boundries it pushed and the contraversy that it caused. It was something nobody had really heard before and everybody was talking about, although i do personally enjoy TES more.
Sep 3, 2017 I remember repeating the phrase "So you can s--- my d-ck if you don't like my s---" in elementary school. You know an album has made an impact, when it even makes it's way to elementary schools and you have 8 year old kids repeating that s--- lol.
Sep 3, 2017 Yeah, I'm just explaining my problem with it. It's not like it can't add to your experience.
Sep 3, 2017 ^This guy knows what a "classic" means. Finally someone who doesn't think an album is a classic just because it's his personal favorite.
Sep 3, 2017 Adding to that, there's this thing I call a "personal classic". I don't throw the term around a lot though since it generates confusion, but it's basically any album that had a strong enough impact in your life rather than the culture. Perhaps some people should be using that, it would generate less confusion.
Sep 3, 2017 Stop making so much sense, you're confusing some Eminem fans on here.. But seriously, i agree 100%.
Sep 3, 2017 What makes an album a classic is personal opinion given "classic" has no set definition. What makes an album widely regarded as a classic is the album embracing pretty much, if not all criteria people often see as necessary for a classic. If an album has undeniable influence, innovative value, popularity, relevance etc. at the same time, it'll be hard for there to be anyone whose criteria for a classic aren't met.
Sep 3, 2017 Recovery was a great album and it's already aged far better than MMLP2 (his weakest album since Encore IMO)
