May 25, 2015 Yeah I would say it's overhated.. At least on here. But it's nothing special.. It sort of sums up his career post hiatus. Hit or miss from song to song /verse to verse. I always go back and forth on his best (post 08) album and the more I think about it the more I see all of those albums as 6.5/10. They each have very very good highs and very very bad lows imo. No consistency whatsoever.. If I had to pick a favorite tho I think I'd go for relapse, his delivery and technical skill are incredible there, and the accent isn't so bad when you listen again lol
May 25, 2015 I wouldn't say its overrated Its an average album with a few good/great songs but not enough to make it memorable
May 25, 2015 the nerve that The Monster is on MMLP2 just bugs me the f--- out, no song like that is supposed to be on the sequel to one of his classics.
May 29, 2015 Its not like MMLP1 ... its more modern and experimental. But i like it and its the best Eminem Tape since TES
May 29, 2015 I think the name kind of causes some overhate, since people expect it to match up to the first
May 29, 2015 Even with the name I don't know why anyone would have thought it'd be comparable to the first with how far Em's dropped over the past decade.
May 29, 2015 I dunno, I probably give it what... 7.8?? i definitely don't think he can 'do no wrong'. Each to their own I suppose.
May 29, 2015 agreed. I would scrap off two songs outta recovery, I think if he replaced So bad / 25 to life / rihanna on that hook and the beat from Ridaz woulda been great. regardless mmlp2, the name doesnt really combine with the album. I know he was not attempting to make an album on the same caliber as the first mmlp cause we know we always does things different but with that s--- aside, I loved the album except from monster and that beat from Highlights's kinda boring
May 29, 2015 M giving it a 7 is just being generous, it's nowhere near above. maybe skillwise but most of the songs he isn't saying s---.
May 29, 2015 If he didn't name it MMLP2 it wouldn't of had the backlash it had. Horrible choice to make the album a sequel.
May 29, 2015 The name did it no favours what-so-ever. As mentioned already, it only focused the comparison of his new material against the old, and that never ends well with Em. I think the idea was admirable, and he did a pretty good job on some songs. I was pleasently surprised when it released. Some of it is pure a--- though.
May 29, 2015 Every Eminem album has a theme. MMLP2 followed the same theme as the MMLP as in him reflecting on his life, as Marshall, at the time. The album title actually fits perfectly. Oh and MMLP2 = Recovery = Relapse. All are amazing in their own ways. We're lucky enough to be listening to him in a time when he's still releasing music. Living legend. More people need to appreciate that.
May 29, 2015 If you're talking about outside of Section 80., you could make an argument that most Eminem music is overrated. On specifically this forum though, I've seen most people label it as an average to good album which is pretty accurate tbh.
May 29, 2015 Anyone rating this album above a 7, please justify how you can possibly rate it that high.
May 30, 2015 MMLP2 6.5/10 Even though Bad Guy was a highlight for most on here, if it wasn't for that second part it would be an average track A few good to great tracks but too many gap fillers and lows
