As a sequel, it doesn't feel the same as the original. Encore was a sequel to TES, and you could get the same feeling from it still. With MMLP2, it doesn't feel like a direct sequel to the original, but more of a spiritual successor to all of his albums, giving the fact that there are so many references to his previous work.

MMLP2 in general is a great album with some flaws but in this part in Eminem's career it is expected. But with that being said its a really bad sequel does not do the first one any justice at all. If you handed me this cd and made me listen to it I'd never expect it was a follow up in any way aside from the opening track.

Recovery and MMLP2 really haven't felt like true Eminem albums. Even though they're not needed his current albums really feel plain without the vintage Eminem skits. They provided a theme MMLP/SSLP = PSA TES/Encore = Curtains up/Down. Thats the one of the few things Relapse has against the last two is it actually feels like an Eminem because of these things. When I heard MMLP2 was being made I would've bet a lot of money that it would open up with a PSA and end with "A lot of people ask me..."
