Do you take your car to an certified dealer or do you prefer to go to a independent?

I'm a technician for a small independent Mercedes shop so I work on my own car but for some reason people still feel the need to spend a lot of money at stealer ships when an independent has just as good technicians and actually most cases better then a dealer.
