Oct 15, 2016What you consider correct or not is irrelevant. In this situation what the general populous does would be how everything was accepted, and that's 99% or so of people never mentioning Infinite and calling Em's discog perfect, flawless, or whatever have you

I agree, but again-- I just had a conversation about this with a coworker earlier this month or swore to me that Eminem was the 'greatest' because of how popular and successful he is. And this wasn't an idiot telling me this, just someone who perceived GOATness in that way.Royston Drenthe, Maximus, h Allu and 1 other person like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Thats what Joe Budden said a few months ago, the kid already has the best discography since Kanye. Would be crazy if he was to drop another great projectRoyston Drenthe, h Allu, moedageniuss and 1 other person like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Again only time will tell. Those albums have many more years on them than the two mentioned
where as TPAB and MBDTF probably had more recognition on release than any of those albums mentioned. Either way they are guaranteed to be in the discussion once they age too.Spiritual Zay, Royston Drenthe and h Allu like this. -

Right now? no, he ain't even top 10.. but back in the days it wasn't rare to see him being discussed as the potential GOAT. It stopped as soon as he started tarnishing his catalog.Spiritual Zay, Royston Drenthe and Cunner like this. -

Illmatic is debatably as recognized in rap but notice it has way more age on it as well, not the most fair comparison.
However, TPAB and MBDTF have way more crossover appeal to other genresSpiritual Zay, Royston Drenthe and h Allu like this. -

Does Kanye though, since Kendrick broke into mainstream circa 2011?
outside of his family and persona and everything...has Ye the rapper been more influential and got the recognition that Kendrick has? dunnoSpiritual Zay, Royston Drenthe and h Allu like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Of course...Kanye has been around way longer.
Influence, sales, and recognition since Kendrick Lamar broke through to mainstream?
Em and Drake got him beat on sales...prob not anyone else and hardly anyone has the influence and recognition K.dot has.Royston Drenthe, h Allu and moedageniuss like this. -

No he did not. They mention metacritic, and kendrick has never dropped a project that had a metascore as bad as 75 or 79. Kdot's average metacritic score so far is 88/100, the highest score for a rapper.Royston Drenthe, h Allu and moedageniuss like this. -

notice how I said in this situation. Whether you think it's correct or not doesn't matter, we're dealing with whether hip hop fans care about certain albums/mixtapes in a discography such as Kendrick's early tapes or Infinite.
