Ed Sheeran used the recording studio at Russell"s house
He puts a beat together, playing Guitar, Piano and Drums
and wrote and sang the chorus
Sent that over to Em's team.

-May 2017, Mexico
Emile reaches out to Ed Sheeran, telling him he remade the drums on the track
Eminem verses were done at this point
Emile flew down to Mexico to finish the production of River with Ed Sheeran

Stayed off the site since release for obvious reasons, so I’m not sure what the general consensus is on here but I can bet there’s a plethora of threads from closet Stans picking apart everything about the song..

..but I f---ing love it. Great track. Especially for a first single because this is gonna be a chart topper for weeks. I like Beyoncé too which helps — much better than Skylar Grey or Rihanna.

The picture he painted was incredible, the passion he had and the emotion in the delivery gave me goosebumps.

That bar gave me chills especially hearing the anger in his voice. His flow wasn’t the most pleasing to the ears but it worked perfectly because of the tracks emphasis on the message & the words he was saying. His writing is as sharp as ever painting pictures while keeping multi-syllable schemes going — it’s seriously extremely impressive.

I think we’re in for a h--- of an album & I can’t f---ing wait to see him perform live in person tomorrow in London, and hopefully he announces his album there too which seems very plausible.
