    No no you're right. His name still holds weight. We all know who he is. But you can't deny he's not what he used to be. Much of the shine has come off, and he's left with a shrinking base of fans. There was a time, with King, TI vs TIP, and Paper Trail, that he was a serious contender for Top 10 rappers alive. But that era is over.

    Gucci on the other hand, was never on the level of TI commercially, but it can't be denied how influential he is (or was) to current day hiphop music. I think you'd agree with that.

    I agree with @Mano that I scoff every time someone votes for someone other than the options given, and T.I. vs. Gucci (and vs. Jeezy) is an interesting debate. That said, I think the "king of Atlanta" right now is very, very obviously Future.

    Yup can't forget about Dope either. Not to mention he was pretty funny in Entourage & Identity Thief.

    Future been running Atlanta for years. Pluto is responsible for so much music we hear coming out right now.

    Nah. Young Thug is the best artist in Atlanta--and in all of hip-hop, to be honest--right now.

    Ludacris is obviously a very, very good rapper in his lane--he's like Redman for the early- and mid-2000s, but without the classic solo albums. Some of his singles hold up, some don't. But he was a good artist, the kind who could have succeeded in any era.

    Where do you have Future and Thug based on their 2016 output and do you think Future retakes the crown with Beast Mode 2016?

    Well it's just my opinion. He sounds to me like that and he isn't running Atlanta imo. Future>>>>> . There's like 30 rappers out right now that I find better than thug, sorry.

    To be clear, while I think Thug is the better artist, Future is the "king of Atlanta" in the sense that he's by far the city's biggest, most vital artist right now. In Atlanta--or in L.A., or in New York, or anywhere--he's the rapper whose music you hear out most often, as much as, or even more than, Drake's.

    None of I'm Up, Slime Season 3, Purple Reign, Evol, or the Esco tape are Thug/Future's best work. They've each had near-home run singles though. Hope Jeffrey lives up to the snippets.
    And you're entitled to that opinion! But saying he's "squealing and spazzing like a hamster" is not a strong argument to that effect.

    Jeezy's got the best album to work out to, whatever that counts for. 101's bangers still hold up for me to this day.

    @Mano what's your favorite Jeezy album/mixtape?
