what's good PC master race? This thread is to discuss all things Graphics cards.

(reminder that the alpha overlord Terry Crews ditched his console s--- for a gamer PC. If Terry Crews can build a PC, you can too.)

I'm sitting on a gtx 550 TI

and an ASUS EAH6850 (same as AMD Radeon 6850 HD)

Not too sure which to use, my Gigabyte/Nvidia one is in at the moment, cause I heard Nvidia is becoming the best as far as compatibility goes - But i'm not sure if I want to swap it out for the ASUS OR set up a 2 (3) graphics card PC (which can be frustrating as f--- to set up)

Get a GTX 980. They're rapidly falling in price and You can play battlefield 4 with it easily.

yeah within the next 2-3 months i'd love to get a new card. I'm tempted to lash out and buy a 1080 card for 4k gaming though. Just need to try and justify spending $1000-$1500 DOLLARYDOOS -


Oh and guys, 4k resolution witcher 3 is the most beautiful s--- I've ever seen, the graphics are better than IRL and are truly the Pinnacle of graphics within gaming. (new tomb raider is also really good graphics too, but i havent seen any 4k shots of it and i play it on fairly low graphics cause my card so old.)

@theg you got me into this crazy f----hole of a game. You played the DLC's? (they any good?) heard gr8 things but havent tried any of them yet. Apparently 1 of the DLC's is like a better ending.
(300 hours down on ps4 and If i got it running in 4k on my PC i'd play that s--- for antoher 300)

TBH. There isn't really a good 4K monitor out there that can do gaming. Sure it looks good but many people still game in 1080p because it has good refresh rates and milliseconds polling for lack of a better term.

Still waiting for Dell's 4K OLED to come out. Try justifying the price for that.

blood and wine is the ending of geralts story, p sure he's not coming back again unless they reboot the series years down the road or something. and yea both dlcs are gr8, they're huuuuge and they were only like 10-20 bucks each. HoS is in the main game's area, but B&W adds a new country to the map, rly rly nice looking s--- and theres a cool fairy tale area thats dope

Yeah the big thing that caught my attention was new enemies. My biggest gripe with witcher 3 was that after 300 hours of playing, the monsters/contracts seemed pretty repetitive (looool). I'm probably just gonna ILL-EAGLE download witcher 3 + all DLC's on PC, but thinking of waiting a while, just so i can up my graphics card first and run it 60fps max graphics

holy s---, just swapped my nvidia card out for my AMD card, both fairly old, but the one im using now is overclocked and f---ing gangsta, all my s--- got a frame rate boost of like 30% minimum and i can run most of my game sin higher graphics now :rejoice"

noice breh. i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get the msi 1060, but if i see a cheap 4k/2k tv between now and then i'll wait it out a bit longer for a 1070.
