It 100% was. This is a regular transfer of a player that changed clubs in the past. Messi only played for Barcelona and Ronaldo transfer doesn't even come close to the impact Messi's transfer had.

I don't even get the hype for both of these transfers to be honest, both are at the end of their career. Is only good for marketing. Both teams could have used the money to invest in much more better players at this moment for the future if we're talking strictly football wise.

I mean buying someone like Mbappe, Chiesa or Haaland at this moment is 100% better for the future of your team then buying both Ronaldo and Messi .

But yeah we live in a world where transfers that are made for the purpose of selling shirts is better for a team then to buy great young players.

He wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great. He was burnt out from being overused by Ole. In the Portugal team he’s not given as much freedom to thrive like he is at United so obviously the performances won’t match

Bruno is nothing short of world class & anyone who doesn’t agree simply doesn’t know ball. Been one of the best in his position for a while now.

His ability to rile up rival fans is a bonus — everyone hates him but would also k--- for someone like him in the team

It’s sad. That’s really the best way to describe it. Messi wanting to stay at the club he’s played for since he was a kid & essentially being forced out is not the way this should have happened. There’s no one person to blame either. Barcelona’s financial situation is f-----; Laporta did everything he reasonably could to keep Messi but La Liga decided to flex its muscles which really left him with no other choice but let Messi walk.

I said this about Neymar & I was wrong (very close to being right though) but I think we’ll see Messi play for Barcelona again. Even if it’s just a farewell tour type thing for a season. This has undoubtedly left a bad taste in his mouth so I can imagine him wanting to come back to Barca after his 2 years in Paris—if Barca has a solid/competitive squad.
