Sep 5, 2017 People are in an absolute panic in the Tampa Bay area. Yet, we haven't been hit by a serious hurricane since like 1921.
Sep 5, 2017 Even people in my area ,Southeast and Southcentral Georgia, are watching this storm very closely. With its enormous strength it could easily f--- up a lot of s--- inland way beyond the beachfronts that it will hit. We're more prepping towards tornadoes, bad thunderstorms , and flash floods. I'm praying for the islands in the Caribbean though that are about to get hit because they are going to see some of the worst of it
Sep 5, 2017 It's actually the complete opposite. You were probably someone who never prepped at all, so looked at everyone else like they panicked because nothing happened. I was the same way but this storm just feels different. In reality, some basic prep is smart, but most do nothing. Tampa has known it will be devastated by a category 3, yet has never done the necessary infrastructure upgrades. If this hits, it will be worse than Katrina and probably worse than Houston. Meanwhile Trump is trying to cut $667M from FEMA. Good luck with that.
Sep 6, 2017 Looks like it might miss Tampa again. Unreal. The interstate was bumper to bumper. Every store sold out of food and water. Gas stations empty. Sometimes I wonder if this is just to boost the economy hahahaha
Sep 6, 2017 I live in miami and everyone here is literally calm but I have a small amount of worry in me honestly...still believe we can make through it...
Sep 6, 2017 Yeah it's supposed to hit the east coast of Florida. But Hurricane Worm came through Tampa and Clearwater a few weeks ago. Left Ybor City devastated as well as with a sunburn and a hangover
Sep 7, 2017 If you believe the hurricane hitting FL is karma than it would apply to Houston as well for a previous action, thus making him correct.
Sep 7, 2017 hope all my sxn80 family is safe my thoughts are with you. I have lived few my fair share of natural disasters (earthquakes) , it is easy to rebuild but the effects on mental health last way longer - depression/suicide rates have skyrocketed in my city since we had a series of major earthquakes 6 years ago, its is now among the highest rate in the world. We are definetly still recovering here, so i hope people dont forget this once the storm passes also if this doesnt wake trump up to reality, i dont know what will
