“Armisen’s transition from music to comedy wasn’t entirely planned” If you are writing a professional article, you are supposed to properly spell out words. Not use words like “wasn’t” and “don’t” I was trying to find a run on sentence or an improper independent clause. But Andy’s grammar was too well written. Other than some slang words. @Papa Alpha Andy

At this point, based on all I've heard and seen, I'm content to never actually watch it. However, I do usually perform due diligence on Best Picture so I guess I'm going to man up and finally watch Green Book.

agreed man. WOOF. absolutely awful editing tbh. and malek was whatever, no WAY he was best actor. i'd easily pick cooper over him etc. BC actually sang his songs lol.

and the bryan singer thing rly bothers me honestly. not to mention the whole whitewashing of the story. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Usually even when I don't agree with the academy's choices I understand some kind of dumb logic behind their picks. I'm just at a loss as to how anyone could've voted for Bohemian Rhapsody for Best Film Editing. That movie was an absolute clusterfuck of reaction shots and mid sentence cuts.

Green Book is perfectly adequate but completely unexceptional. The problematic elements are far from innocuous - tho I do think they're getting blown out of proportion - but even putting those aside, there's literally nothing about the movie that elevates it above a made-for-tv "racism is bad" special. Mahershala Ali is very good. Viggo Mortensen is fine, and everything else - the directing, cinematography, writing, music, etc., - is so shockingly par for the course that it's almost disgustingly bland.

The Bryan Singer thing again feels like a slap in the face. That Rami was the dominant choice among thousands of voters is astonishing, that he was still voted for after his press run is even worse. I burst out laughing when he first showed up on screen with the full on gay look, which of course was immediately referenced in the movie. I don't understand how anybody can take that movie seriously, nor do I understand the industry propping it up despite everything surrounding it. I know it was a wild success, but if there was ever a time for Hollywood to take a public stand against their depravity in the wake of their half baked me too movement it was now.

Instead they just keep jerking each other off, like a bunch of underage boys on Bryan Singer's face. At least his career is over.

Not to mention the entire script is structured around the formulation of their most popular songs. They go from one gimmick sequence to the next without even an attempt to connect them to the collective works they were apart of. I've read some wild theories about the song Bohemian Rhapsody itself, yet the most we can get IN THE FILM is the absurdity of it being a single and the Galileo lines?
