Last night’s annual Power 105 Powerhouse concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was not a perfect concert. The show ended with Kendrick Lamar performing in front of a half full arena – more on that later. - It was after midnight when Future wrapped up his set. Kendrick Lamar was left. It didn’t matter, as thousands of people poured out of the arena, deciding to skip out on Kendrick’s set. The ones who stayed took in a Kendrick performance that was lively, but not particularly exciting. K.Dot performed a bunch of joints from his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city. Perhaps he knew that those songs work better in front of a crowd like this. Songs from To p---- A Butterfly, his great sophomore album, sound better in a smaller, more intimate venue. It was clear that the powers that be were trying to get Kendrick to wrap up his show. Kendrick refused. Instead he closed the show with the inspirational To p---- A Butterfly track “Alright,” ending a night that was far from perfect. Oct 26, 2015 Heard about this briefly on the radio, but from pictures and tweets it still looks like a lot of ppl stuck around for his set. His shows have always been great here so it's not like Chicago has suddenly turned on K Dot. Going on at 11-12am on a Sunday night doesn't help though.
Oct 26, 2015 It's obvious the people who stayed are actual Kendrick fans. As an artist I would be content knowing that my people f--- with me. And besidesfuck who ever left, theyre stupid for not getting their moneys worth. Kendrick still got payed for those seats though . And right maybe they had to get home to take care of their responsibilities.
