Imagine he released Encore as intended...
Imagine he released (what was clearly) the depressive masterpiece King Mathers...
Imagine he released the GOAT Relapse 2,

+ MMLP2 named something else (as the title is like 70% of the problem, even though it's still a mess, it coulda worked better named smthin else), more fitting... like 'Showtime', as it's more like a spiritual successor to TES; then no Revival. Everything after the same.

Look how much better his discog woulda been. I give you: EM'S DISCOG, REVISED

    1. Infinite
    2. The Slim Shady LP
    3. The Marshall Mathers LP
    4. The Eminem Show
    5. Encore
    6. King Mathers
    7. Relapse
    8. Relapse II
    9. Recovery
    10. Showtime
    11. Kamikaze

    Infinite
    The Slim Shady EP
    The Slim Shady LP
    The Marshall Mathers LP
    The Eminem Show
    Encore (as intended before leaks)
King Mathers EP (none of the goofy songs)
Relapse (except it's the best of Relapse, Refill, and Relapse 2)
    Recovery
    h---: The Sequel
Redemption (more fitting title for MMLP2)
Revival (only keeping so we get Kamikaze and swap out worst songs for tracks from Southpaw and ShadyXV)
    Kamikaze
Music To Be Murdered By (only best songs from each side)
    The Death of Slim Shady

Amazing discog with only miss being Revival

Kamikaze is basically the result of revival.
Indirectly maybe MTBMB too. And king mathers wouldn't have been better than encore is, he simply didn't really have what it takes to at that time. Only album I'd really be curious of might be relapse 2 but I guess we might have heard more than half of it by now with refill and songs like is this love... I'm just kinda fine with his discography. He experimented with different styles of music and rapping over the last decade and actually gave us some different albums which might come handy from time to time. His 09-17 era is not great but offers many different styles of music. I don't normally like recovery but it's an unique Eminem album which at times I might listen to, same goes for relapse, even maybe for revival. His albums after revival were quite good, he has been doing well since 2018.

@ Kami, yeah but just living in fantasy land of having the aesthetic and rapping and music of that album without it needing to specifically be about 'Revival', like, the album still being the album as it is.

@ King Mathers... I'm not so sure about that. From what we have heard either recorded for that album or for that era: Beautiful, Careful What You Wish For, My Darling, The Apple, Difficult < it's already shaping up better than Encore. I'm intruiged for the rest of it, sounds like it was gonna be a genuinely depressive (as in, he was in a depressive state, which is interesting to capture) dark masterP.

@ Relapse 2 - again, not so sure about that. I think maybe you're right @ half of R2 actually from Refill. I think Refill material is some of his fave from R2. But he usually puts like 15-16 songs on an album, there's like 6 new actual R2 tracks, not counting 'Forever', as it's not; so... h--- Breaks Loose, Buffalo Bill, Elevator, Music Box, Drop the Bomb on 'Em & Taking My Ball... ALL fireeeee and arguably a level-up from R1, musically and skill-wise...

So, that's only 6 songs. Out of probably like, what... 16 songs let's say. 10 more songs even is sigificant and could be fkn anything. I think 'Oh No' was probably a complete R2 track too. And 'Is This Love' ofc but, around Relapse era, when talking about the material, he said they'd actually done enough 'for probably 3 albums' actually, so let's say maybe 40 + tracks? There's a lot we haven't heard.

Oh no is deffo relapse 1 off cut. He positions the sequel as happening after detox which clearly wasn't panning out timeline wise by the time R1 was out with R2 slated to release before detox

    Yeah true, says...

    "First I Re-Up, then I Relapse
Go to rehab then I Detox after I see Doc
And I'll be back with the sequel"

I'll BE BACK... wouldn't make sense unless that was for r1.

I reckon Nut Up was early Relapse sessions too. Got vibes of Gimmie the Ball, like early 08 or w.e, rambling, finding his way with the style.

    I don't.

I just did that for the sake of... not getting into that discussion again here, bc it's not the point and they both about the same level to me anyway - so same same.

    Still 2 albums.
