Feb 20, 2026 This is such a bizarre thing. I can watch this peculiar delusion in action in my real life -- I have a 100% caucasian non-blood family member who believes that he is an actual "honorary minority member" because he worked with a minority community once in the 60's. He claims that the people he works with "adopted him as their family and bestowed a cultural name" on him. He speaks the only 4 words of their language that he knows to ACTUAL members of the culture, which offends them every time. He has been asked not to do this, and had cultural appropriation explained to him; he also rejects the interpretation of the actual members of the culture as valid, because he himself "identifies" as "a valid member of the culture". I despise this imbecile.
