Feb 9, 2026 Many more. I’ll put a list together of the ones I think fit the toxic love song profile in a minute here. Trying to kick using pretty much anything is the struggle, and I’d say it’s often a fight to the death. But I hate the sanitizing of addiction that goes on now… they say “ substance use disorder” which sounds like it’s trying to absolve addicts of their catastrophic self-destruction. It’s preposterous. I’ve said it before — it’s f---ing HARD to become an addict. You’ve got to want it. As sick and broke and isolated and incarcerated as it can make a user, only the most devoted lunatics trying to avoid reality can stick to it long enough to be unable to imagine life without the substance. Commitment to staying f----- up overrides everything else, in my experience. It is absolutely a choice first. over and over and over, and I hate the designation of addiction as a “disease,” too. CANCER is a disease.
