Jeff Bass talked about the chaotic studio session that birthed “Kim”.

Eminem came into the studio “f---ing pissed off” about his ex-wife Kim, who at the time was not letting him see their daughter Hailie. Bass said, “So I came up with this very dark track, and then he literally went into the booth and started rapping about what we hear now on that record… He came up with that probably in an hour”.

The session quickly turned personal: “He was able to get s--- off his chest that really bothered him… Obviously, he didn’t k--- anybody, but there’s some truth in some of it”.

Interscope was not sure what to do with the result. “They were like, ‘What are we going to do with this? Now you’re pushing the envelope’”, Bass told The Post. Too graphic for the clean album version, “Kim” was replaced by “The Kids” — which only boosted the record’s notoriety.

Bass also revealed that during that period, “We were doing lots of drugs… “It fueled what we were coming up with … We hadn’t admitted yet that we were drug addicts. So to us, this was normal, just getting high, going in the studio, writing all this music, recording the music. Opioids — that was the choice of drug”.

But they were not slacking, working non-stop on material for “The Marshall Mathers LP”. Bass, whose name is on the album production credits alongside Dr. Dre, Mel-Man and the 45 King, recalls: “We would work in the studios for, like, 20 hours a day, and we would just come up with song after song after song after song. We just would keep creating to see what flowed together well on an album”.

Despite the chaos, Bass called “The Marshall Mathers LP” “a piece of history… a piece of work that will just be here in perpetuity, forever”.

He felt so comfortable bashing Relapse back in the day - an album FULL of Dr. Dre b-----r beats and some decent Eminem rapping, yet holds onto Revival being this holy grail of his career - just because he was emo, guise. Just because he made the billionth track about how much he loves his daughters, and sang like the popstars he used to bash, you are a MONSTER for not liking it, because it was emoshunal...give me a break, Marshall. Mockingbird worked because it was an old nursery rhyme, but these other tracks about Hailie are just tired. You see the thumbnail for the Somebody Save Me video and it's just like ughhh Eminem looking pissed again with his beard what year is it oh it's 2024

I know what you mean Modii, he also keeps repeating that he wrote Stan as if to say it's his best work, since he doesn't even mention Lose Yourself...

How stupid do you have to be to think it wasn’t? You think he’d rather rip out vocals from unreleased tracks, and hope the timing matches and the words as well?

That’s just idiotic. He clearly used AI in some parts to sound like 2000’s Eminem.

Yeah but he also left off 'Groundhog Day' for things like 'So Much Better' on MMLP2, and thinks Revival is good. I have zero faith in Eminem's judgement of his own material.

He's gonna save the best for last right, we know from Refill, some of which was r2... Buffalo Bill etc. that s--- is fire. So, I just simply don't believe him. I think Relapse 2 s--- would blow our minds.

Hope the s--- reviews and the casual fans bumming Somebody Save Me and Temporary doesn’t change his direction for next album. He made Recovery due to the reception of Relapse and casuals loving Beautiful. TDOSS is the right direction for future albums and hope he can continue to be creative with his music like he has on TDOSS and not resort back to making music for everyone again.

I used to pray for at least one more album during the years of 2005-08 when I was younger....I just wanted ONE more album to listen to. I was just a kid and I am soooooo grateful that he continues to drop music...it is CRAZY that I am still experiencing Eminem during this decade. I critique his s--- but I will ultimately love it to some degree because I am a Stan....a sane Stan but I know there are VERY few of those in this world. We are a minority within a minority at this time. I already am a minority being racially mixed but holy s---. I am also a traumatized addict who is beyond f----- up right now. I am praying this white n----- drops at least another couple full solo albums because I need it...

I’m waiting for Rap God: The Album. Every song will be a Rap God sequel and he doubles his rapping speed even more as each song progresses. 20 song album minimum. By the end of the album you can’t even tell what he’s saying
