Eminem is literally missing the entire point of being a rapper, because a stop and go flow isn't a flow at all, no matter when you time the stops

I don't wanna keep this argument going even though I feel like me and Skippy had a positive non-hostile one. Imma just end it with this. To the Young Thug fans...be careful and don't become the one thing you despise. If you think about it, if you praise Young Thug and discredit Eminem then you are no better than Eminem stans (no offense Em stans im on both of yall sides). Being open-minded requires you to look at both artists objectively. That means acknowledging both of their strengths and weaknesses in fair way. I understand that you have to defend Thugger because alot of people don't like him and haven't heard enough of his music to fairly judge him but don't become them by attacking their artist and raising up yours, if that makes sense.

being objective doesnt mean giving Eminem credit he doesnt deserve. Having like SIX average to AWFUL projects in a row is the REALITY is it not?

Thug's last 3 official projects were 1017 Thug, Tha Tour pt 1, and Barter 6 -- all critically acclaimed, outside of each artists fan base.

That's debatable. And that's the heart of what I'm conveying and what I said days ago. It's all about preference. None of what we think is good and bad is necessarily fact. We all have different standards and tastes

At the end of the day, Critics just give their opinions on things like we do. Only difference is they get paid for doing it more extensively and cautiously

I don't agree that all six of those projects were awful to average. Compared to his older stuff yes but when you look at them for what they are, they aren't as horrible as yall make them seem. Him deserving credit or not is an opinion as well

Why not? It's fun to debate and share opinions with others. It's good to communicate with others and not keep things to yourself but I just don't take it so seriously like some people do. I may try to give someone my perspective but I don't trip on if someone's opinion is different than mine because it's just that, an opinion. Why defend artists' music like they are our family members? It's not that serious.

you're doing an AWFUL lot of assumption.

ive reviewed like literally every em project at some point, and I ALWAYS preach, in general, that people should take projects for what they are first and foremost. not try to compare them to other things or place them in context immediately.

so stop the assumptions. there are PLENTY of reasons why each Em projects since like 2004 falls short of anything great. too much filler, the production, the content, the sequencing, etc.

people spend time citing and SUPPORTING these reasons -- it isnt fair to be dismissive about their arguments.

You dont seem to understand the difference between "giving your opinion" and spending time developing the proper rhetoric and arguments that are supported by a whole slew of examples.

i dont care to talk about something as subjective as "why care so much!?!"

how bout we talk instead about how you're dismissing people who write like essays on an album by saying what the claim is no more valid than X poster on this site saying "thug sucks!"

its not the same, at all. how much you can defend your stance and how well you do it plays a huge role.

You misunderstood my critic comment. In no way am I holding a critic's opinion to the same respect as someone's "He's trash" post. I'm just saying that they're both sharing their opinions. You should take a critic's assessment more serious than an average poster's because they put way more thought and effort into it. I'm not blindly assuming things at all.

And, again, everyone doesn't have the same standards. Someone's idea of filler or bad production can be different than someone else's. I'm not here to disrespect or downplay anyone man I just wanted to give my 2 cents. That's one of the things forums are made for: to give people an outlet to express themselves. In doing that my intentions are friendly, not snobby.
