    Ok then.

Eminem had a 4 year run thats unprecedented in rap history. Sales, quality of music, cultural impact etc. Eminem is nothing short of a legend regardless of what you or anyone on this forum thinks. Hes made songs that will forever be some of the greatest rap songs ever. Hes made albums that people still listen to till this day and will continue to listen until rap becomes irrelevant. The greatest rap legends always tout Eminems musical ability and his impact. I know it sounds like the a generic youtube comment but its kinda true. Not taking anything away from thug but hes not eminem. Not to say he never will but its kinda easy to choose eminem.

I like thug, i think he makes really good music. better music than Eminem currently.

Probably the best i could come up with. So there my opening statement

The quality of Eminem's music in that 4 year run was not unprecedented. Biggie made better music in his short time, and he was like half Eminem's age.

I'm not factoring sales or cultural impact into my question of "who's the better rapper," but yeah obviously Eminem was a phenomenon

What songs of his do you consider some of the greatest rap songs ever? Besides Stan and Lose Yourself

In my opnion, it seems easy to chose Eminem if you're answering a different question than the one in the OP

Thanks for actually articulating your thoughts tho 8

im indifferent with biggie. Never clicked with his music but you make a fair point.

So if we are purely basing it on music ability i still go with Eminem. I even think that Eminem still has it in him to make good music too. If he fails with his next project than ill probably realize that hes done and will never come back.

i would consider both of them top songs, but other than that: Sing for the moment, Till i collapse (could see the argument why it wouldnt be), who knew ( under rated as fuckkkkk), rock bottom..

and has even has had some of the best features: Renegade, Patiently waiting, Forgot about dre, Whats the difference...

again I love thug. I hope he can achieve what he deserves ie main stream appeal.

Great songs is one thing, being considered a great rapper even after releasing more bad projects than good is something else altogether...i think thats an unfair bias thats given to him

like re read what you wrote...relapse, bad meets evil, recovery, mmlp2, shady xv..NONE of those were enough for you to give up on him yet lol. for some reason you STILL think he can make great music. its crazy man..like i said in koolos thread the other day, its like stockholm syndrome when it comes to eminem

as me and michael myers were saying, the level of consistency thugs shown these last 3 years, while releasing more music than em has in his 16 year career, is what propels into this convo already

so id ont think its as easily "eminem" as you may think. if anything, i think its thug without a doubt (vocal range, originality, innovation, discog, consistency etc), and eminem is the one that needs arguments made in his favor

    u dig?
