Artists are working on their albums hours before release dates with tweaking stuff etc. If Eminem is making changes or adding stuff to his album then there is no pressure of a deadline or to announce a date with him only having a distribution deal with his label and how music gets released in this era. It does not need to be handed in, months beforehand. Like in one of the Kamikaze interviews, the label only knew about the album a day before it got released. Whole different ball game.
