May 30, 2024 No matter how it sounds, we need to give it some time before we overreact whether good or bad When Relapse first came out, it got a lot of hate because it was not what we expected. As time has passed it is a lot more appreciated. When Recovery came out, people loved it because Em had the passionate delivery. As time passed it hasn’t aged as well. MMLP2 was not what people expected. Weird stop and go flow, and voice. and it goes on and on, he comes up with new styles that at first can be off putting because we want vintage 2000’s Em but as we accept the new style we can see the brilliance in it.

May 30, 2024 Whilst keeping expectations low, I think I have a 3 point checklist for what I think will make or break the song for just me as a listener. 1. Is the chorus going to be a meme like Venom. If it's catchy, and not ridiculous, I'm happy. 2. Will he do a super sonic fast part. It's not a deal breaker, but would love for it not to have that. As it's becoming a bit of a running joke at this point. 3. Will it have a video immediately. Pretty confident about this happening. But feel like its so important. His crazier singles are always boosted by a visual.

Was the first time I had heard/seen him since the hiatus and just remember thinking "wow he looks way older now" lol Also I remember Recoverys lead single Not Afraid getting its worldwide premier on Shade45. Stayed off school to listen.
May 30, 2024 To me Relapse, Recovery and MMLP2 aged very well. I had some issues with those because, as you said, they weren't what I expected. However, after he gave me exactly what I wanted on Kamikaze and MTBMB, I could finally appreciate the earlier albums for what they are. They have their unique sounds and advantages we will never get again. Which is okay, because we have those albums. Recovery is still the worst one for me, but I enjoy it a lot nowadays.
