May 30, 2024 J. Cole was coping. He doesn't need to be present to be relevant, TPAB and GKMC get discussed in hip-hop circles basically daily and that's not even taking his other work into consideration. I personally like that's he's on Adele timing where he can do nothing for 5 years and pop out outta nowhere and still sell like 300k first week with a concept album.
May 30, 2024 Was browing the gallery page on shadyrecords.com, what or who the f--- is Chops The Pig?
May 30, 2024 I’m 49 and feel the same Just woke up and here I am going through 30-40 pages to see what happened during the night lol
May 30, 2024 Did the usual Stan thing of going, 'Ah, I bet its some dark song, where Rhi sings some chilling chorus about inner demons to some disgusting Alchemist esqe beat, with Em flowing like f---'. In hindsight, of course we were getting pop rap with a bit of awkward yodeling - but I was stuck in the moment of a song that doesn't exist.
May 30, 2024 Idk if these are hot takes or not but here's a bunch of them 8 mile > lose yourself Infinite is not an underrated gem, it's just ok I don't like "Headlights" Side B is aging worse and worse each year save 2 or 3 songs The Monster > LTWYL h---: The Sequel is sexy af overall Relapse is the 4th classic The Re-Up is very good Some of Em's best s--- is on the 8 mile ost and Devil's Night Arose is overrated Deja Vu > anything else after that Say Goodbye Hollywood and My Dad's Gone Crazy are criminally overlooked MTBMB > Kamikaze Encore > Recovery Feel free to discuss any of this s---
May 30, 2024 The problem with this cover and the CC2 cover for me is that they look way too obviously digital, he's not making an art pop album so he doesn't need to make his cover some s--- like these: But I always prefer the practical photoshoot with good art direction rather than the hyper digital s---, a big reason why the Cole Bennett videos have had diminishing returns to me.
May 30, 2024 None of my complaints about a f---in cover for a single matters if the song is good btw, don't get it twisted.
May 30, 2024 Man, I've always thought 8 mile, and say goodbye to Hollywood were some of his best works.
May 30, 2024 I like Houdini's cover a lot for a single, I wouldn't like something like that for the album tho but like you said, as long as the music's good, f--- it
May 30, 2024 Y’all complaining about the houdini single cover saying it’s a--- meanwhile this is Eminem’s other single covers lmao:
May 30, 2024 Bumping Abracadabra until this drops. I kind of wish Eminem didn’t manipulate the sample so much, him rapping over the original riff would be fire. I can imagine him singing guess who’s back? Back again. Over that riff.
