Apr 29, 2024 Kamikaze had the benefit of being a big moment that nobody was expecting, it was huge and there was no other release that week. Also, various moments from the album went viral like the disses on the new gen in The Ringer, the Tyler comment on Fall, and ofc the large chunk of verse that was directed at MGK on Not Alike. With MTBMB it was more of “oh he surprise dropped again”, while still a cool moment, it just made more sense to surprise drop Kamikaze, hence the name of the album. The biggest moments from that were Godzilla and Darkness. Also, Mac’s first posthumous album was released that day so people were ready to tune into that ahead of time
