Mar 26, 2024 The fast rapping has been played out since Rap God. It amazes me how long it's gone on. I remember feeling like the shouty delivery in the Recovery era lasted a while, if only I had known what was to come. Almost half his career has been plagued by fast rapping.

Mar 26, 2024 Yeah his flows are faster in general, but I think he was referring to triple-time or just 'hey look at this' showcasing. Wheras, I don't think just having generally faster flows, like... 'Little Engine', counts in the same way, I mean, it is a pretty fast flow vs. say, back in the day or by any standards, but it's still rhythmic, unique to the song and beat and it's not just a pure showcase. But yeah his speed in general is faster and when he raps slower now, it feels like he's trying to actually hold himself back, like forcibly stop himself from bursting out with more intensity. And I agree, he has less to say and so if he's gonna be slower... he better have something to say or some stories to tell.
Mar 26, 2024 When he integrates it decently into a verse, it's not so bad, like Lucky You. But when he builds up to it, then does it for 35 seconds at the end of a song instead of a final hook, and ironically grinds the song to a halt, I can't stand it.
Mar 26, 2024 My favorite one is Lucky You. Holy s--- that supersonic was actually flowing, making sense, and technically impressive, not sure if it’s as fast but it’s up there. Same with ending of Love Game, it WORKS in those two songs because he strikes it just right. Execution was cool in Godzilla but you’re right, it wasn’t needed anymore.
