Mar 15, 2024 I don’t think he entirely judges song quality off of sales, but he definitely does to some degree which is kind of sad. I think music as a whole would be much better if there wasn’t so much emphasis placed on first week sales, streaming numbers, Billboard placements, etc. There could be more music based on pure, authentic emotion and more music made for fun rather than being scientifically curated by out of touch boardrooms that squeeze the soul out of everything to make it as catchy, bland, and meaningless as possible. We would also have less s-----y TikTokers making horrible music in an attempt to gain fame.

Wish he signed a cool artist like 50 or Obie, last one was Yella and it’s not really for me, I like Love Story though. Dude was just not built for a big label.
