Feb 22, 2024 It's not dropping and no Doomsday video this week. Looking forward to the merch tweet at midnight
Feb 22, 2024 Yeah that doesn't really count to me though. Like, I could also go removing scenes I don't like from films but, however it's presented, is how the artist meant it and has given and is the project to me, like, I listened to Relapse as he presented it with what he wanted on, off, and how he ordered it. So, that's gotta stand on its own merit. Like, Relapse is what he presented to me. Doesn't count me just editing it. I care just about the album, and annoyed it was so close to a perfect thing, to me. But yeah his legacy legggacccyyy is staiiiiiiiinnned, beyond beyond, repppaaaiiiiiiieerrrr.
Feb 22, 2024 I agree, people tend to argue that revival is the most divisive but I always see a strong 90/10 on it and the 10% that actually like it either say it's just ok or that it's somewhat salvageable, the truly divisive one is MMLP2
Feb 22, 2024 I never thought of it that way, I always thought the name was slapped on but now I definitely see your point and it makes sense
Feb 22, 2024 Yeah no cap. And to a new gen, it might be a great album. As that tends to be the split I see. Probably as, if you didn't grow up on him and aren't used to the consistency and cohesiveness of his first three... which you're holding the standard against... you'd probably just hear mmlp2 as a great collection of songs, especially younger listeners - I mean, it's got the varied excitement of his styles and ideas, humour and drama. It's a journey of an album. But, to those of us used to better... we just hear its flaws, and all over the placeness.
Feb 22, 2024 I get that and I used to see it that way too but after a certain point I stopped caring. My attitude is basically f--- Eminem's judgment, mine's better.
Feb 22, 2024 MMLP2 slander needs to stop. Only bad thing about that album is the production… but that’s pretty much every em album since The Eminem Show for me. But the raps are great
Feb 22, 2024 That's not the only bad thing breh, and I don't even think that's bad. It's big, loud, crisp, clear, some defining melodies again too... not a problem, other than it sort of being a bit cheesy and polished, but, is what it is at this stage. But yeah the raps are great. But it's about the mismash of styles. It sounds more like a mixtape. You think of the original MMLP you think of that g-funk and the bass bros, all those beats and also Em's rap style cohesive throughout. It's a sound. MMLP2 is like 'hey leme do everything under the sun, bit of this, bit of that, bit of this!', trying to appease every style of fan, like he tried on Revival next, to muccccccccccch worse effect.. But just gives this confusing lack of identity to the album. Despite his raps being great. And then many bad imported hooks too, cut n paste hooks, robs the album of his identity. Basically every hook on MMLP was him. Compare that to fkn Skylar Grey, Rihanna, Nate Ruess etc. all over the place, it's not good enough to just do good verses, he used to care about and build the entire song himself.
Feb 22, 2024 So basically em is dropping anywhere from Friday March 1st to Friday March 22nd. In that frame?
