Jan 26, 2024 Chaotic Progress in deep analytical thought as he listens with his top-shelf drug store headphones:
Jan 26, 2024 Just how he sounds than a dodgy mic to me. His current voice/style is not to everyone’s liking and people just blame mic or mixing issues for it. It’s just his voice imo.
Jan 26, 2024 Em's voice was perfect in Side B, nothing wrong with his voice. He's just dragging this era and it got boring
Jan 26, 2024 Recovery and MMLP2 were also criticised for similar issues when it’s just his style and voice that they don’t like. Recovery’s beats were clearly an issue but everyone goes on about mixing, when it’s fine. SSLP and MMLP is ironically his most unpolished albums in that aspect but the music was all great and no one finds his tone or style annoying etc so it doesn’t get mentioned.
Jan 26, 2024 I'm a Millennial. But, more to the point... it's just what happens when you show bad music. There's so much good music which has ever been made and is being made still. That ain't it.
Jan 26, 2024 Yeah spot on. When people like the song or style, everything's perfect. In reality, his vocals and mixing are clearer than ever. Just don't like his voice or style so are like 'WTFS UP WITH THIS MIXIN BREH?' lmao. Don't know what he on about.
Jan 26, 2024 You can definitely hear mic problems in this last drop, Gospel, Parables & Last One Standing. His albums are fine, I’m not the biggest fan of Side B but the problems I have with his delivery as far as his lack of emotion & monotone delivery has nothing to do with quality of his mic or the mixing itself — that’s fine & some of the best since Relapse There should be a clarity & continuity with his vocal performance & yet every song is at odds with each other. Whereas in the MMLP2 era for example, despite the production being all over the place, the mixing was identical across the board.
Jan 26, 2024 Clearly. I tend to like good melody, interesting content... Not some spaz whaling around yelping like it's art.
Jan 26, 2024 Well because he still does - even today, come with some interesting melodies and content. Not up to the standards of his peak, but, there's still usually SOMETHING going on somewhat interesting musically vs. most rappers; as Rick Rubin said about him - regarding how Eminem's flows and words intricately marry the music, much more-so than anyone else he's worked with. But, I'm mostly just waiting to see if he does something interesting again. He's created too much great s--- to just be like 'AH f--- HIM'. So, I remain like, loosely engaged, but, I don't listen to Em for probably the past 5-7 years... much at all.
Jan 26, 2024 Cause it's music for 30 to 40 year old speds and not 15 to 25 year old speds, and I grew up with one so it has to be better!
Jan 26, 2024 Nah. I just said why and it's nothing to do with that. There can be discernible and justifiable reasons and analysis of 'good' and 'bad', we can categorize what defines each and why; and it's not always - certainly not at all with me - what generation it's from and 'OH BACK IN MY DAY', cause that's just f---ing r-----ed, and I'm not - and am not tribalistic, like many are. Hence why some of my favourite music is from every era - from the 60s to the 90s to now. It makes no difference. Good is good and bad is bad. And what he/she shared... was dog s---. I could come up with better in my garage in an hour.
