Dec 17, 2023 Because of the dark twisted vibe and tone of the song. So it fits with the theme and concept of the album, despite it being completely subject matter to SWA for example. Beautiful is out of place, sticks out like a sore thumb and shouldn’t be on the album. Takes you out of the whole feeling of the album.. That’s the difference.
Dec 17, 2023 The overarching theme of the album is his drug addiction, not the serial killer stuff which is secondary. Deja Vu fits in with that theme by being about his addiction, and only "blends in" sonically and stylistically due to the production and accent, not because it has anything directly to do with the serial killer theme in particular. The "dark twisted vibe" you hear is otherwise entirely subjective. Understand now, Supsuck?

Dec 17, 2023 I love both the Realiest and Lace It verses but people tripping here. Yeah, they have calm flow and so on, blah, blah, blah, but people act as if songs like Lock It Up and Zeus didn't exist. MTBMB is full of such verses.

Dec 17, 2023 I understand that his drug addiction and the serial killer ideation on fictional songs from the album are related. That's not some profound insight, as even an idiot like you could pick up on it. My point is that there is nothing objectively "dark and twisted" about Deja Vu. It blends into the overall theme and character of the album because of the style of production and rapping and the fact it's about his addiction. But any "dark and twisted" vibe it might have to you is only there because YOU are reading that into it. This is a clue that "concept album" is a subjective term, and one that isn't very useful in my opinion since pretty much any album can be thought to have some kind of concept or other, even if some are clearer than others.
