May 24, 2023 A song is useless 99% time if it doesn't sound good. Eminem has sacrificed his sound (or lost his ear for what sounds good) for fast flows and complicated rhyme schemes. It's that simple. If Eminem came out in 99' rapping like he has been from 2013 onwards no one would have listened to him. The reason he's still somewhat relevant is because of his loyal fanbase and his superstar stature. I wonder what happened to this guy? Seems like young Eminem was cap tbh. I really wish some interviewers would call him out and ask him why he doesn't care about making good albums anymore. "I just want to be the best rapper" - it's a weird obsession. But rap music IS music. Make it sound good. At this point I doubt we'll ever get a sonically pleasing Eminem album again. He's simply lost the ability to flow like he used to and wants to stay in this rappity rap hip hop nerd lane that he's crafted for himself.
