Jan 30, 2023 The reason why songs like Mockingbird are getting vast airplay these days from the younger generation is because his flow was easier to listen to and a lot more melodic back then. I think by 2004 he had mastered his flow. He was a lot more experimental in songs like Bully, Evil Deeds, Crazy In Love, etc. The drugs affected this too obviously, but he was still listenable. Imo he mastered his flow in 2002, that was the best he's ever sounded. Half of Encore is f---ing trash but his "lazy" flow on Mockingbird/Toy Soldiers sounds better than 99% of his flows post 2009. He was sonically pleasing even on a drug fuelled s--- fest of an album. You can't say the same about his music from 2010 onwards. I miss the days when you could listen to Eminem without bringing up Rap Genius to understand what he is saying.

Jan 30, 2023 Yeah that was one of the dumbest decisions he's made in his career. Without the silly songs and with a bit more focus it's EASILY his 4th best album, and a solid one at that.
