Sep 6, 2022 g.d. we got the same taste lol, although I never really liked Ariana. She's very talented and some of her songs get stuck in my head but something about what I heard doesn't click all the way with me.
Sep 6, 2022 That’s because we know what good music is these days lol. Yeah I see what you mean, I can now relate to Ariana’s music not clicking all the way. It used to click with me, but now listening back most of it feels pretty empty. A shift happened with me somewhere in 2021 where I suddenly didn’t feel most of her music anymore. That s----d too because I had just bought a shirt with her sweetener album cover on the front lol f--- it though I’m still gonna wear it. I think what happened is I’ve been expanding my music taste so much that I realized how generic Ariana can be. Outside of her big hits and some of her other songs, her music doesn’t have much personality. Her voice pretty much carries her songs… replace her with any other pop star though and the songs would feel the same because again her personality doesn’t come through. Although the album where her personality shines through the most is thank u, next, and I think that’s one of the reasons why me, among others, think it’s her best album. She also let her personality shine through some more on her newest album positions with songs like 34 + 35 that display her corny humor along with her sexiness. It’s just that album was the first of hers to feel mediocre to me due to R&B songs that didn’t work for her and made me go back to her old music and realize most of that is mediocre too.
