Jan 22, 2022 See Revival. He did none of these things. Just spit straight personal fire the whole time.
Jan 22, 2022 Yeah, we all know Revival is a classic. Can't wait for Revival's 10th anniversary hoodie
Jan 22, 2022 Em gives you a different style on every album. I love that about him. He's never been lazy. He's creative, which is what an artist (specially one of the so-called GOATs) is supposed to be. He could've stuck to what worked for him on the SSLP. Or MMLP. Or TES. But he's always trying to spice it up and give us something we haven't heard before. It can be hit or miss, yeah but I wouldn't have ever wanted him to sound the same for more than 20 years.
Jan 22, 2022 That's obviously true, I like Relapse and Recovery for example, and they are so different. But he also dropped some mid trying weird s---. And most of his collabs s--- now, and half of MTBMB imo with them childish songs and love tracks
Jan 22, 2022 I guess Jay will drop this year, so I'll say it now. I bet Jay will drop a better album.
Jan 22, 2022 That's very subjective, obviously. And the press/media outlets all seem to love whatever JayZ does. He's got them paid for or something. He could release an album with him farting for 50 minutes and people like Jay Elec or Joe Budden would say "see? that's why he's the GOAT". Personally, I have never understood why JayZ is rated so highly by most.
Jan 22, 2022 lol it's not really subjective when Em puts songs like Stepdad on his album, one cares, the other one is still childish at 50 and doesn't take his albums seriously. Don't get me wrong, I love Side B, but Em could do way better, he just doesn't want to.
Jan 22, 2022 Jay has way worse albums like MCHG or Kingdom Come for example. I think 4:44 is rap's last classic album tbh, and it's been a couple of years since then.
Jan 22, 2022 Well Stepdad ain't on Side B, so... And yes, music is always subjective. It's a matter of taste. I could never listen to JayZ for more than 30 minutes.
Jan 22, 2022 I think Em's brain is f----- up. Always has been. That's why he can come up with the most amazing things but then also include songs like My 1st Single, Rainman, Puke, etc on official albums. Something JayZ would never do. JayZ or Nas are much better at deciding what's worthy of being on an album. I'll give you that.
Jan 22, 2022 Whole argument of Eminem needs to be mature and make a album like 4:44 is so stupid. Why would I want Eminem to rap about business and making money from his 182828 empires. Firstly it be boring as f---, secondly this is not what Eminem is about or why anyone listens to him and is annoying when he keeps bragging about it on songs anyways. Lastly, Eminem is the most mature and in-depth artist that has ever been, immature as well, sure. But this what makes him so great, has a million different sides to him. Mature content is what everyone brings up. Jay is not even close to the emotional, honest and mature impact Em has done in his career. Mockingbird, When I’m Gone, Leaving Heaven, Headlights, Rock Bottom, the list goes on and on. Jay raps about money and how to make it and people go ‘ Wow, so mature, this is amazing, Why can’t Eminem do this” Not only does that statement not make any sense in the context to Eminem, it also shows people only say it as it’s a cool and pretentious thing to say because of 4.44.
Jan 22, 2022 Em has a different personality than Jay Z. I'd much rather Em make music where he's portraying his true self than trying to imitate someone else. Also, Side A was much better than 4:44, though 4:44 was good too. Again, that is my opinion, which is subjective. And so is yours.
Jan 22, 2022 I've always thought people who don't like Eminem and use the argument "I can't relate to his songs. I don't want to r--- my ex-girlfriend or k--- my mother", so idiotic. I don't want to do either of those things, but I can relate to many other things he's talked about in his music. Yeah, like you can relate to driving Ferraris and having 10 billion dollars in the bank or dealing drugs. Yeah... that's the life you live. Rrrright.
Jan 22, 2022 I said I want Eminem to be mature, and that 4:44 was Revival done right. I don't want what Supsuck is saying, I want a f---ing serious album, not a bunch of dumb songs, some unnecesary LTWYL remakes and then a couple serious tracks like he's been doing since Recovery. Jay rapped about way more than money on his last album btw, he also rapped about his begginings in rap, his family, his relationship with Beyoncé and what his mistakes caused, the relationship with his mom, his financial regrets
Jan 22, 2022 I've seen youtubers relate to Em plenty of times. Bullying, toxic relationships, not being able to see your kid, complicated relationships with their parents, addiction,... Em has good things too obviously
Jan 22, 2022 Another typical Marsh take...do you make up your own mind or just go by the critics? I'd take kingdom come over 4:44 all day
