Jul 5, 2021 The serious tracks on revival were the best part tbh they just would've hit harder with better beats and without some (not all) of the punchlines
Jul 5, 2021 True lmao I don't need a tpab from em but I do wonder what a more serious album from him would sound with all the shortcomings of revival taken into account
Jul 5, 2021 It's pretty impressive that Eminem is still doing so well considering he's been out of his prime for over 15 years lol. Imagine the Spotify numbers he'd be doing if this was 2002.
Jul 5, 2021 I think beats were okay on this, it's just execution and this whole tape was a mess, like idk what was inside Em's head - what's the point of putting out an album that sounds like Immortal Technique first mainstream album... I think he really put some songs from different eras to make people mad, so he could comeback with Kamikaze
Jul 5, 2021 That would be some big brained s--- but em must be a great actor cause he seemed like he really believed in revival lol
Jul 5, 2021 Dude was mad hurt. Thought mixing the worst from Recovery and the worst from MMLP2 with politics would work for sure.
Jul 5, 2021 Still don't get how an Eminem song featuring Beyoncé didn't go straight to number 1, even if it was a slow track.
Jul 5, 2021 First and foremost, he's a celebrity, so he acts the certain way, right? He knows how to stir s--- arount to make it look a certain way, right? I'm sure he was out of ideas after humongous MMLP2 (yes, it's that big in my eyes). You can tell he was out of ideas after Recovery just because he decided to drop a sequel to his most succesful album ever, but somehow he did a good job - I will always praise MMLP2 for writing, his pen game was sick on this. What happened after MMLP2? Hiatus. Was MMLP2-Revival hiatus longer than Encore-Relapse hiatus longer? I think it was Em and Paul aren't dumb, they're businesmen, they know what they're doing so I'm sure Revival was like that on purpose
Jul 5, 2021 Cause Recovery exists and it was way better. He already had done mature pop rap with female hooks in a way better and more succesful way.
Jul 5, 2021 Recovery is far from serious record, even if Not Afraid is on it. I can agree with this being his #1 serious album, but still... a lot of goofy tracks and really wack puns with serious beats.
Jul 5, 2021 Just both names on the song should have been enough. I know she's not a hitmaker like Rihanna, but it was two of the biggest artists ever on the same song, and totally unexpected too.
Jul 5, 2021 Shady XV isn't as bad as people say it is. I enjoyed almost every song on it, scrap that D12 track and pretty generic Slaughterhouse song and we're good - yes, even "Right For Me".
Jul 5, 2021 I remember when some people here would use Walk on Water as an argument when someone hated on Revival. "But he's talking about people like you in the song" As if it made it s--- less
