Nov 29, 2021 Ive always understood that No Apologies was an unfinished track that he came back to later and recorded the third verse and released it to see if he still has it. He even mentions it in the third verse.
Nov 29, 2021 And the third verse of No Apologies is clearly not as good as the first two. One of my favourite songs none the less!
Nov 29, 2021 I feel like you just feel this way because you know it was written in a different era. The 3rd verse is on par with the rest for sure
Nov 29, 2021 i dont understand what effect Em was putting on his voice in 05-07. You have songs like jimmy crack corn where he sounds alive and energetic then songs like were back where he sounds like hes speaking through a toaster. Ik he was on dugs but it doesnt explain the random shift in vocal tones
Nov 29, 2021 I'm repeating myself but the vocals (and writing) of all verses are 100% 2002 Em. If you can't hear that I don't know what to tell you. Already on Encore the shift from the late TES/8 Mile style and voice to songs like Mosh, Rainman and Big Wheenie which were recorded in 2004 was very noticeable and obvious.
Nov 29, 2021 No Love is a serious track overall. I also think Wayne killed it everytime they collabed.

Nov 29, 2021 Bruh, I'm sorry but this is 100% wrong. Em started working on the Re Up in 2016 and originally intended it to be a mixtape. The writing is from 2002 for the first 2 verses and the final is 06. All verses for the "No Apologies" record were recorded in '06.
Nov 29, 2021 Let's not forget how random but tight Public Enemy #1 was as well! People sleep on that track. Great flow and cinematic.
Nov 29, 2021 Just wanna butt in and say that I personally think that all Em verses were done in 2002, until this section starts: It's so obvious to me that this was added in later. The transition is a little abrupt, Em's voice gets calmer and he repeats himself. Remember, this was during the time he had writer's block.
Nov 30, 2021 I make spelling mistakes every time I post from my phone, stalker . Then I read it again and see them. You could at least be thankful that I'm promoting your Candem Globethroater career
Nov 30, 2021 He did have writer's block which is why the 3rd verse(written in '06) sounds subpar compared to the first 2 that were written in '02. Listen to TES/8mile soundtrack than this. His voice definitely sounds different.
Nov 30, 2021 He went back to it and finished it, and I'm glad, cause it's one of my favorite Em tracks
Nov 30, 2021 This thread has made me go back to The Re-Up. Really not a bad project for what it was. A shame they failed Cashis the guy had potential
Nov 30, 2021 Cashis was cool, but I feel like gangsta rap was dead when he "blew up". It kinda came back with Waka in 2010 and then again with Keef in 2012. I enjoyed his EP, even bought it, but I don't have it anymore like most of my cds.
