Jul 22, 2021 I feel like beat selection & concepts are being conflated here, you’ve given a good example as to how they’re not the same but can align. Relapse production shows where they can align, it ties into the concept as a whole package. Whereas MMLP despite the production being less cohesive across the board, the sequencing balanced the sound differences & allowed each song to have its own unique flair to the production to set the mood & tone which tied in with the whole theme. Edit; just to add, I don’t think MTBMB is far off what MMLP attempts to do as far as cohesion, I think it does a brilliant job on its own balancing the sounds & sequencing, something what looked impossible last decade (MMLP2/Revival.)

He not even big, man, what do you think people were waiting for? He already getting a lot of views and plays for being Proof's son anyway, he'll be good. Jul 22, 2021 imo post relapse (or maybe mmlp2 or revival.... def since 2017) he made a deliberate effort to make less old school albums with skits and concepts, and fall more and more into the technical. just him rapping, carrying that kind of lyricism as a badge of honor. its been good in some ways, but in terms of making fun Albums with consistent themes and a worldview, less so
