Jul 3, 2021 yeah, and I still haven't heard this new song from Grip. I'm not at all interested in Shady Records anymore. this label has been virtually dead for years.
Jul 3, 2021 That's cause Em had artists that were mainstream friendly. Even SH and Yella were. After that he went for a different type of artists the mainstream don't care about.
Jul 3, 2021 “Far beyond the image, this is trap and rapping in your partner’s Honda Civic/Or that county jail your mama visit, to see if a bond was given/Cause you took a chance to advance in a life you ain’t bound to live in/Why would I be bound to critics?”
Jul 3, 2021 Shady records could be a decent label if it still had slaughterhouse, griselda, yelawolf and they were all working together. The re up 2 with all of them and boogie could generate some buzz. But shady records doesn’t know how to handle artists. definitely not feeling grip though
Jul 3, 2021 INDIANA RAPPER VINCE ASH SIGNS TO EMINEM’S MANAGER’S LABEL GOLIATH RECORDS Longtime Eminem manager Paul Rosenberg has been inserting building blocks into his Goliath Records imprint since departing Def Jam Records in February 2020 and his first flagship artist has just been id’ed. Indiana rapper Vince Ash inked a joint venture deal with Paul Rosenberg’s Goliath as well as Interscope Records. To celebrate the signing, he released the deluxe edition of his 2020 album, VITO and music video for the single “On N’ On.” The updated project includes the new singles “RL Jumpsuit” and “6.52.” Paul Rosenberg operated as Def Jam Recordings’ CEO/Chairman in 2018 for a little over two years before stepping down to focus on Goliath Records, which is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. He also oversees the Goliath Artists management firm (which counts Eminem as a client) and maintains his leather chair position as President of Shady Records.
Jul 3, 2021 oh man Both Grip and Vince Ash are so f---in dope, i really really hope this is works out. But given Shadys track record expectations aren't very high....
Jul 3, 2021 stat quo was underrated. He had some dope s--- on some of his old mixtapes. Not sure what the deal was with him getting shelved. Wouldn’t be mad if some of his shady records songs leaked one day.
Jul 3, 2021 Didn’t know Stat Quo was white. Funniest looking white rapper I’ve ever seen. Looks French tbh
Jul 3, 2021 agreed, think that shady records album would have been nice...I remember couple leaks were good with Em featured on them
Jul 4, 2021 stat seemed to get a bad rep because of his “like dat” single. But honestly for the music out at that time that wasn’t a bad single choice. he fit in nice with the rest of Shady at the time. Shady records could of been sooo much more than it was.
Jul 4, 2021 imo, SR is a playground for Eminem, and Rosenberg is there to run boring business stuff that Eminem is not interested in. To Eminem it doesn't matter if a rapper flops or blows.
Jul 4, 2021 Stat's album was finished two times, the second version never saw the light of day because he pissed off Em. Stat wasn't feeling a hook that Em wrote for him and said "give me a million dollars then I'll do it". He left after a while because his relationship with Em never got back to the way it was, even after Stat apologized to him.
Jul 4, 2021 I actually don't think that Em and Dre gave Stat any good production, atleast not on the same level as GRODT for an example. Em always gave him stuff which sounded like beats he would rap on himself, and Dre's beats sounded like some throwaway s---. Though we never heard official album material, so I could be wrong.
