like its not like i disagree with the song or think eminem is a cuck or whatever its just i already know that police are s--- and there is inequality. i didnt like, learn anything or glean any meaningful bits of wisdom. there's some crafty wordsmithing some good ideas here and there but i'd rather just read up on current events thru social media than listen to a 6 minute song about it

yeah same. it's kind of hard to understand what he's saying on first listen (not because he's saying anything deep, just because it's literally hard to make out some of his words) so i doubt it will get much reception from non-Em fans

I'm not sure. He can do whatever he wants, I'll have my preferences but at the end of the day I much prefer an artist expressing something they're passionate about than creating things that we want to hear. I guess that's at the crux of Revival's mystique. Everyone's clambering over if he is caving in to his fan's expectations since Walk on Water, then Untouchable came from far-left field. I think its very thrilling to experience even if Untouchable didn't do much for me personally.

I know complaining will happen no matter what. I hope my opinions don't get misconstrued as complaints though. I guess a concise answer to the question of what I want from Eminem, it would be surprises. From that angle, he's doing it right. I'm left eager to hear more.

Based on this post, can I assume that Em saying "There's something for everyone on this album" discouraged you? I feel that way because it sounds like he was saying "I was trying to appeal to everyone" instead of "I was trying to express myself"

NF a nobody rapper is out charting Em proving all the hype for this album is dead.
Who's ever idea it was to diss Trump needs to retire as it's backfired spectacularly!
Revival not going to even do 200k first week.
4 year wait and this is the best he can do with 2 of the worst tracks he ever put out released from his new album?

It was an interesting way to describe the body of work. I don't think appealing to interest and expressing oneself are mutually exclusive, but he'll probably have to pull out every trick he has to make everything sound coherent, appealing and impassioned.

I'm not one to kneejerk react to things so I wasn't discouraged but definitely intrigued. Tbh though if I were promoting an album I'd probably rather say it has "something for everyone" than "its not for everyone," regardless of how it actually ends up xD
