Like i said of course there is marketing side of things too. But not all of them are singles, he had many hooks like that on both Recovery and MMLP2 but the singles he released were not all features at all. I see what u mean tho. Using Rihanna on singles and s--- but anyone who has Rihanna on album release is as a single, Kendrick did it, Jay did it, Kanye did it. It's just very safe route to go with. Especially, this Revival has more popular artists then any of his albums, don't think he'd push all of them as singles. So he really likes it. What's the point of having that much of star power unless u wanna push it as single ?

Another thing is that, I don't really believe the company thought Walk on Water would be the safe single. I mean it has no beat and we are in the era of beats. Anything goes big has a bumping beat I don't even hear slow pop songs or any slow tempo songs on lists at all lol. They know it'd be hit or miss. It was very risky. If it wasn't for Beyonce on it even label could have done anything to stop Em from releasing it as a first single. But Em probably wanted it to be heard first and it made sense. Anyway, all in all, yess they definitely use it as formula to make an easy hit but Em know he can do hits solo. h---, the next single might even be one of his solo s----s lol. Who knows. And those inner album collabs exists, he just didn't go all the trouble to credit them on Recovery and MMLP 2. It's obvious he didn't get all those famous artist to release all of them as singles. He really likes those hooks Sky wrote and he probably gets influenced by them or smh. I don't know. But just single formula is not making sense...

Em may feel its his last album - Its guaranteed all of his career he's stockpiled concepts/songs for the day that he drops the mic....We know that respect is what Em cares about , and to go out with the standard he has for himself, and to uphold his dedication to the hip hop culture. The low key rollout has been frustrating , but a sign to me that he's confident..We like to see Em in appearances, but its more of an obligation to promote. Based on the Track names themselves, this may be one of the most interesting..It's not Em's problem if the current rap culture lacks Authenticity. Batson, being a producer, using the term 'Masterpiece' is a big statement..

The closer we get to release the more hype I lose. When we thought we were getting the album on the 17th I was soooo hyped. Now I’m just here for the ride. I’ve put to much time in to walk away now .

We know Em loves hip-hop, loves the culture and wants respect - yes.

But we can't truly say he enacts to uphold it when he's enlisting 100 pop stars and not giving great rappers, even people within his own camp, much needed shine - that's upholding the culture, that's upholding rap.

He's putting his rap at the forefront, but ultimately - he's putting rap in a pop light and putting sales and fame at the forefront. Above all else.
