Albums, mixtapes, whatever, still went no.1 on bb200. I guess if you're only considering ALBUMS, then he went no.1 in consecutive weeks with 2 albums.

If he rapped about getting f----- up, a bunch of s--- about celebrities, etc. you’d call it fake and say “Why the h--- is a 45 year old saying this?” or “he’s sober. That’so fake and a pathetic attempt to sell”. He can’t do that.

If he raps about being sober and clean and being a caring father, he’s a sell out and soft. So he loses on that end. He can’t rap about all his past or family things because people claim he’s overdone it, since you know…he’s publically shared more personal details to us then every other artist lol. So people hate on that. Comparing someone who’s publically done music for almost 20 years is going to be past their prime, like an athlete. Who was better their 16th plus season in their sport then in their early days? This is true with rap because rap is much about great lyrics and punchlines.

He’s consistently delivered so great for so long, but how much more great lines can any writer have? Of course to an extent you’ve used up much of your brain in that sense. How can he keep outdoing it? Walk on Water is actually great lyrically because it explains that and how much he doesn’t want to disappoint all of us. I swear sometimes I think Eminem could release a song as great as “Lose Yourself” today and people would react different and say it’s “meh” haha. I mean the dude has excited and entertained us for almost 20 years. He could retire no problem right now.

He’s doing a new album simply out of passion for rap and for us fans. If it’s not an Eminem Show and Marshall Mathers LP level, so be it. You can go back and play it any time you want. That’s what’s great. Let’s just be happy we hear new material from Eminem, and I’m sure the majority of the album will be great songs we enjoy.

DMX was the FIRST rapper to have 2 albums in the same calendar year debut at number 1 on the billboard 200.

According to Wikipedia, future did the same thing this year but pulled it off even more impressively by releasing the 2 albums in consecutive weeks:

Ok yeah my bad. Don't follow him that much. He had 3 no1s within 365 days, not a calendar year. DS2, WATTBA and Evol. On top of that he also released some Purple something in the same 365

How old are you? Bone was HUGE in 1995. California Love didn't release until close to the end of the year and that's when the Pac buzz really started to grow.

2001... Jay-Z started the year off with hits off The Dynasty, released Best of Both Worlds with R. Kelly and The Blueprint. Em still had buzz from MMLP, but Devil's Night was a relative flop, and MTV didn't even really play Fight Music.

Wayne's run was much longer than that original list. He had easily the most buzz in hip-hop of any artist during that run. He made huge guest appearances on other peoples' tracks, etc. His mixtapes were huge.

2009 - Blueprint 3 was the biggest rap album of the year and had two #1 singles. No debate there.

2010 - Recovery was HUGE and also had two #1 singles.

2011 - That was Kanye at peak popularity. MBDTF came out late 2010, and he rolled that buzz into 2011 and dropped Watch the Throne.

2012 and 2013 - These were probably the hardest years to pick, so I left them as is.
