    Paul getting offered a job at Def Jam is what is delaying the album, now doing anything with interscope would be against the best interests of Def Jam. Paul is probably trying to get the release under Def Jam but Interscope owns all the rights to the music.

    Firstly I doubt Def Jam has enough money to buy out Eminem's contract from Interscope. Plus there was that article a few months back that said Paul confirmed Em will stay at Interscope and Shady Records will move to Def Jam.

    Secondly I don't think there's enough info for people to be operating under the assumption that the album has been delayed somehow, when for all we know they are right on schedule. They've never officially announced when it is supposed to come out and the only rumours have been that it was handed in to the label in June and is supposed to come out fall/winter.

    Thirdly since Paul starts his busy Def Jam job in Jan 2018 and also needs to micromanage Em through every album rollout, if the album doesn't come out by the end of this year, we're f-----. Officially.
