I agree. Why switch up what's been working for them for decades? The best time to do a surprise release was with Recovery or MMLP2 but that was kinda before surprise releases were more prevalent. He's not as popular as he was during the Recovery era or even MMLP2 era.

There's gotta be something coming soon.

And what if the album will be the compilation of many different styles? Imagine Eminem rapping like he was in the 80s, 90s, early 2000s. That would be dope. I always wanted an album, in which there will be a theme of time passing by. Him stepping onto the scene and rap using an old school beat on the first song, the next song is a story like Yellow Brick Road, then something reminding the Eminem Show era (how he influenced the generation), then the Relapse-accent track about his days in 2006-2008, then the Recovery song (Space Bound related would be awesome), and finally the newest style (please, don't use No Favors voice and flow). "The Journey Through the Time" would be a cool concept. Very important things to include could be Ken Kaniff skits, Paul skit, Steve Berman skit, Public Service Announcement. It's not likely to happen but would bring the old Eminem vibe.

No one is saying his 'gangsta' era was down to what he wore.
He definitely went through a period of rapping a lot about guns, stabbing and beef when rapping with 50 Cent and G-Unit. It was occasionally cringey but mostly great.

I'd welcome that Em over the screechy, super fast, teen inspiring pop star that we have now (or a tleast have had for the last 7 years).

Um he rapped about guns before 50 cent came into the picture. D12 first album had a song called pistol pistol, and didn't eminem pistol whip a bouncer before? Also eminem had beef before he signed 50. There was never no gangsta era eminem.

d---. i really wonder whats taking so long for at least an update. Don't think they'll ever tell us but its either writers block or he scrapped the original project. Or maybe its not even his album hes working on i know thats a joke around here but it could just be 50's . Idk getting inpatient at this point. Not sure why they didn't capitalize on the hype a few weeks ago

It's funny how people talk about hype and s--- like they're experts on marketing! Yet when it starts he is all over the place but it gets bashed because people are upset on the wait. He's not a new act. He's an older one with limited time left. He can take his time all he wants.
