Aug 1, 2017 This looks really bad. It's like the inverse of what 8 Mile was, unless there is some kind of social commentary I'm missing here. Literally just watched a helpless nerd get buried by some alpha chest thumping neanderthal. There's nothing impressive about that. It doesn't tell an inspirational story or an underdog story or anything remotely resembling a compelling narrative. I've seen high school cafeteria freestyles more clever than that. Calling a scrawny kid a fa----, wow, we're all so amazed at your wit and lyrical dexterity. Sure did body him!!!
Aug 1, 2017 What it looked like from the trailer was like 8 Mile 2k17 edition; B-Rabbit was the story of the white kid from the hood who had nothing but rap, and showcased the struggles he had to face trying to break into the scene back then. this looked like the story of a suburban white kid venturing into the battle rap scene as it is now (as so many of them do) and what he has to face regarding the issue of cultural appropriation and other issues of today, as well as fighting fish-out-of water syndrome. idk,.. Joseph Kahn likes to do a lot of funny and tongue in cheek s---, I won't know how well they pulled it off till I see tho whole thing.
